Aligarh Jama Masjid

Aligarh Jama Masjid

Sawit Khan constructed Jama Masjid in 1724, making it one of Aligarh's most venerable and opulent mosques. Building took 14 years. The mosque is the highest point in the city, and it is situated atop Bali Fort. Its location allows for visibility from every city in the city. This mosque has pure gold covering its dome and minarets; no other mosque in Asia has as much gold stored there.

The Indian state of Uttar Pradesh's Aligarh is well-known for its lengthy, closed history centered on Muslims and Rajputs.

The mosque is a testament to Khan's creative and architectural genius, both of which are difficult to duplicate elsewhere. The main draws here are the tomb of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan and the domes and minarets.

Unlike other mosques, Aligarh's Jama Masjid does not have a madrasa. The primary worship center is accessible by public transportation and is located just one kilometer from the state highway. Among the distinctive features of Jama Masjid that grab people's attention are:
It is located on the Aligarh Muslim University campus, and

It can accommodate about 1000 people and offers year-round courses in Qirtat and Quranic phonetics. While Aligarh may not be as well-known as some of the nation's other historical sites, its beautifully restored old walls adequately convey the city's significance in Indian history.
